UNIQUE EXPERIENCES
Quilt Gardens Along the Heritage Trail
A truly one-of-a-kind experience — the only one of its kind in the world.
The Elkhart County Quilt Gardens are entering their 19th season in 2026, featuring 17 quilt garden sites and 11 hand-painted murals across Bristol, Elkhart, Goshen, Middlebury, Nappanee, Shipshewana, and Wakarusa.
All Quilt Gardens and murals are completely free, and viewable any time during daylight hours.
Closest locations for quilt gardens in 2026 are:
Trip Around the World Garden — Farmstead Inn & Conference Center, 370 S. Van Buren St., Shipshewana
Whirl Gig Garden and Wedding Ring Mural — Das Dutchman Essenhaus, Middlebury
Bloom tip: Mid-July is considered peak bloom, meaning June 18–21 will be beautiful but still on the earlier side — the gardens are planted May 30 so they'll have had about three weeks to grow. Still very worth seeing!
To get a map of all 17 locations, stop by the Shipshewana Visitors Center to pick up your Quilt Garden map, or download it online at visitshipshewana.org.
